We are dedicated to giving both new art businesses and existing art business the support needed to establish and sustain themselves in our local economy.
Our Artists
Every year, five artists are accepted into the ABI SPI program. During this time, these emerging art-related entrepreneurs are granted access to their own studio space and gallery space, along with many other invaluable resources. Our staff works diligently to provide a comfortable and supportive learning environment for the in-resident artists and they develop and refine their business skills.
Our Mission
Our primary objective is to support the growth of art culture in our community in a way that is sustainable. ABI SPI (pronounced “abbey”, SPI) sets out to “incubate” artists who have the desire to own and operate their own art-related business on South Padre Island. The ABI SPI will also support existing art businesses in the area and market art as an attraction on an Island-wide basis.
